Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) Therapy
CPM is a post-operative theraputic treatment that passively - without patient effort - moves a joint through a prescribed Range Of Motion (ROM) for a prescribed period.
There are a range of studies that support the clinical use of CPM as part of orthopaedic rehabilitation procedures.
Research in Germany by Dr Volker Sauer, presented at the DKOU Berlin, October 2016, clearly demonstrates significantly better knee function and significantly better and more obvious daily activities scores at all post-op investigation points (6 weeks, 12 weeks, 52 weeks).
CPM is best applied immediately post-operatively. Kinetec® offer CPM devices for all the major joints, including:
- Knee & Hip
- Elbow
- Shoulder
- Hand & Wrist
- Ankle
